Over forty years of serving our communities as a paramedic, special rescue team leader, police officer, detective, SWAT team member, advanced educator, and the last 12 years as the Chief Criminal Investigator for the Kootenai County Prosecutor’s Office, have led me to this place in my life.
God has gifted me with an eye for detail and the vision to make ideas and images come to life in wood. Decades of pride, tears, memories, and joy go into each of my creations. No two are alike. Now is a season to reflect on my career and devote time to my artwork.
It gives me great pride to see my artwork received with tears of appreciation and humility, and displayed in the homes or offices of veterans, first responders, and other patriotic Americans. My heart swells with joy and satisfaction with each custom work delivered. Each flag I make brings to life tradition, and has special meaning to its owner. I see it in their eyes that these flags mean more to them than artwork or home décor… they are embracing a legacy. A Legend.
My work is like no other. If I can see it, I can make it. I am a solid patriot, and having taken an oath of office to defend the constitution. The Stars and Stripes has an especially deep meaning to me, as I have lost friends who died defending that oath. This dedication to the principles and pride in my country is reflected in my artwork. My work is a blessing for me, and brings joy to others. What could be better?
I am committed to creating decor that is not only beautiful but also built to last. We use traditional woodworking techniques and modern technology to craft each piece with precision and care. A keen eye for beauty brings my work to life, seeking out hidden shadows and highlights with my trusty airbrush. From careful wood selection, precision milling, and joinery, every step of the process is done with the utmost attention to detail.
Being a decorated law enforcement officer and paramedic for decades, Larry is now "retired". He now enjoys blessing others with his creative talents. It is lightyears away from homicide investigations, handling calls for service as a patrol officer, rescuing a climber from a perilous cliff, performing forensic duties at major crime scenes, racing the clock with SCUBA gear to locate a drowning victim, shocking a quivering heart back into rhythm, or the agonizing duty of overseeing a child predator apprehension unit.
Larry lives with his beautiful wife of 32 years in North Idaho. They have two grown children and a two little grandkids for Papa and Nana to spoil!
I do not take the creation of my artwork lightly. I consider it a cherished honor and a privilege. Maybe that is why my work turns out so well, because a part of me goes into every piece I make, and every detail counts and is meaningful. I believe that those in positions of front-line public service and of course our fine military service-members, give up a portion of their hearts and sole to the people they are sworn to protect. A part that they will never get back.

We offer one-of-a-kind custom creations with an emphasis on patriotic creations. I also make other home decor and gorgeous high-end cutting and chartuterie boards.
We work with a variety of woods including oak, maple, cherry, and walnut, softer domestic pine for sculpting , and exotic woods from around the world for our meticulously made cutting boards.
Most of our products are either commissioned requests or sell almost immediately, but at times the creative juices will flow and I will work ahead and make custom pieces using new artistic techniques. This is especially true with cutting/charcuterie boards as unique or hard-to-find wood is available and catches my eye : )
My turnaround time for custom projects varies depending on the complexity of the project, but it typically takes 4-6 weeks from the time of order. Please note that I prioritize orders that are for families of fallen first responders or military service-members. I don't charge a fee for my work in these cases.
These are fun events but most who attend are looking for novelty decor items. My artwork is intended for the buyer who is searching for a treasured piece that can be handed down for generations.
Some of the dimensional carvings I do take 16-20 hours of work over several weeks. If this type of art is what you are looking for, I only know of one other very talented artist in KY using the exclusive hand-carving and airbrushing techniques I employ.
Can you find something that mimics my work at a lesser price point? Absolutely. If distinctive quality, creativity, and custom one-of-a-kind creations are not priorities for you, I'm sure you can find something that vaguely mimics my work. But there is no comparison.
Oh yes, our Goldendoodle Princess Buttercup is always faithfully sound asleep at my feet.
I receive enough requests for donations that I have to decline most. I regularly donate an item to the Open Arms Pregnancy Care Center's annual live auction, as well as the Coeur d'Alene Police Foundation for first responder mental health care. These live-auction items have sold from $2200 to $4100. I will not turn down work for a fallen hero's family.
